€1.5m EIT health grant to fund AI-powered heart failure detection project (PRE-DETECT-HF)
This project will be carried out by a prestigious consortium of partners, led by Noah Labs, including Maastricht University Medical Center+, Clinic Barcelona, DKV Salud, ProductLife Group, Institute for Policy Evaluation, IDIBAPS and the German Foundation for the Chronically Ill.
Advancing heart failure monitoring through voice-based ADHF detection
The €1.5 million grant from EIT Health will fund a two-year initiative to advance heart failure monitoring through voice-based detection of acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF). The study will be conducted in Barcelona and Maastricht and will involve around 100 patients. The study aims to evaluate the usability of voice recordings and the feasibility of voice analysis in identifying early warning signs and predicting ADHF exacerbations. This pioneering approach has the potential to revolutionise the management of ADHF by providing a non-invasive and cost-effective means of early detection, leading to improved patient outcomes and reduced hospitalisations.

A Strong Consortium for Shared Success
The consortium brings together a diverse group of institutions, each playing a crucial role. Noah Labs provides the core technology and artificial intelligence expertise. Maastricht UMC+, a leading academic medical centre, provides clinical expertise and research infrastructure. Clinic Barcelona, a renowned cardiology centre, contributes its clinical experience and patient access. Additional partners DKV Salud (Spain), PLG (France), IPE-Institute for Policy Evaluation (Germany) and the German Foundation for the Chronically Ill (Germany) offer valuable insights from the insurance, regulatory, economic, and patient perspectives. Altogether, we will conduct the trial to clinically validate the feasability and usability, starting in the Netherlands and Spain.

About Noah Labs
Noah Labs is a Berlin-based digital health startup. Founded in 2021 by Oliver Weiss, Marcus Hott and Dr. Leonhard Riehle, the company aims to help people with cardiovascular diseases live longer, healthier lives. Marcus previously worked as an AI programmer at Harvard Medical School while Oliver, an economist, previously built the elderly care company Mecasa. Leonhard is a medical doctor who previously worked in the field of cardiovascular telemonitoring at Charité Berlin. At Noah Labs, our AI-powered approach to cardiovascular care and research is dedicated to helping people with cardiovascular disease live longer, healthier lives. The Noah Labs Ark cardiovascular software platform enables cardiologists to efficiently monitor patients with heart failure through telemedicine, utilizing external measurement devices such as smartwatches, blood pressure cuffs, and scales.
